Seasons Greetings! The podcast is fixed!

Gosling descending a staircase

'twas the night before Christmas....

Yes, we’re finally back again with a podcast and I’m very, very happy to say that we have FINALLY sorted out all the technical issues that we’ve been having since our um, “studio’s refurbishment”. Apologies again for the issues on the last two but we really are back to the same audio quality as we once had (pity the content doesn’t match). But enough about the past, let’s look to the future, which seem to be exactly what the movie studios want you to do, judging by the absolute deluge of trailers we’ve seen over the last few weeks for 2012 releases.  As usual I’ve listed them all below so you can “watch along with Mc & Yap”. Also on this week’s show we finally have reviews of the 2011 re-quel of “The Thing”, Seth Rogen & Jospeh Gordon Levitt’s cancer drama “50/50”, “The Muppets” and “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” in which I am reliably informed Tom Cruise is AWESOME.

All of us here at McYapandFries would like to thanks you for listening and wish you and yours the very best this holiday season.

“God bless us every one”

We’ve Gone on Holiday by Mistake….again!

by on Sep.29, 2011, under Newspost

Are you the farmer? Have you heard this joke before?

Well shiiit, looks like we’ve missed our window of opportunity with the podcast again.

Gavin’s had to go “away” for a while for “help”..I mean “work” and it was my “birthday” last week so our already erratic schedule has been truly thrown off it’s axis.

We’re looking into options to get you a podcast soon (Especially now that “Drive”  and “Killer Elite” are coming out) so please bear with us and we’ll get right back to you as soon as we can.

We’ve gone on holiday by mistake!

by on Aug.17, 2011, under Newspost

“Are you the farmer!?”

Oh God Kill it!!! Kill it with FIRE!!!!

But seriously we seem to have taken an unplanned break in podcasting as we kind of reviewed all the latest releases that were available in the last podcast and then I kind of went on holiday for a bit leaving Gavin high and dry (he can’t get down off the wardrobe when i move his stepladder)

Don’t worry though,  I’m back now and all better (mostly) and we should have some reviews and news coming your way any. day. now.

Honestly we have top men working on it now. Who?  Top. Men.

We interrupt our regular scheduled broadcast…

by on Jul.17, 2011, under Newspost

No podcast today (Sunday) folks, Gavin had some “stuff to do” and I lay by the pool at day (don’t hate me).
We should bring you another cast by Tuesday however, so don’t change that dial.

Another Night

by on May.15, 2011, under Newspost

We may not have a podcast this week but that doesn’t mean we won’t have new content.

The first trailer for the remake of “Fright Night” is now up online and I have to say this looks like a lot of fun!

The original starred Chris Sarandon (the creepy Prince  Humperdinck from “The Princess Bride”), Roddy McDowall (Planet of the Apes ) and William Ragsdale (who now plays Winona’s douchebag husband in “Justified” on TV), and told the tale of a high school kid who enlists the aid of an old TV horror show host to combat the vampire next door. They’ve been updated with Colin Farrell (from, well, loads), David Tennant (used to be Doctor Who) and Anton Yelchin, who I’m starting to hate on after getting plum roles as Chekov in “Star Trek”, Kyle Reese in “Terminator: Salvation” and not sucking at all.

Stop….Hammertime!

by on May.11, 2011, under Newspost

haltAs you may have noticed there’s not been many.. .well ANY updates round these parts for a while.  Due to circumstances beyond our control (bloody work… rassum frassum),  Mc and Yap will not be in the same country .. or the same timezone,  for the next while,  which can make doing a weekly podcast a little bit difficult.

Keep an eye on the site and our twitter feeds for updates and as usual keep sending us questions so we can have a bumper show when we inevitably return  (no doubt when Captain America opens)

We’ll try to sort something out in the meantime but to tide you over here’s a picture of a cat doing hammer-time.

Til next time!

Jake-a-palooza

by on Apr.14, 2011, under Newspost

Back once again with a mid-week podcast, this week’s show is chock full of Jake Gyllenhaal; with reviews of “Love and Other Drugs”, where he stars with Anne Hathaway, “Source Code” Duncan Jones directorial follow up for to last year’s “Moon”, with our Jake starring as a soldier who seems to be reliving the same train accident over and over again …or is he?

And we finish the show with a review of “True Grit”. Which doesn’t star Jake Gyllenhaal at all but what are you going to do?

Along with this, we bring you news of the villain Superman will be facing off against in Zack Snyder’s reboot of the franchise, along with the actor who will be playing them, news of Josh Brolin’s look for MIB 3, Mc’s growing anticipation for “Priest” and our usual set of bizarre questions from the mail bag.
