Podcast 236: Geng Kubur Interview Special
by Mc on Aug.26, 2024, under Podcasts
This week’s podcast is a little different. To mark the arrival of Gavin’s film Geng Kubur on Netflix at the end of August 2024, we teamed up with the Geeks in Malaysia podcast for a special crossover episode!
In this special podcast Nick and Amelia (from Geeks In Malaysia) and I interview some of the cast and crew of the movie including:
- Gavin Yap (writer and director)
- Khairil M Bahar (cinematographer)
- Firdaus Sufiyan (plays Firhan in the movie)
- Mia Sara Shauki (plays Melati in the movie)
Join us for this wide ranging, behind the scenes conversation but be warned we were a little… looser than normal with our spoiler warnings. We highly recommend watching the movie first, before listening to the podcast.
So enjoy this behind the scenes look at Malaysian film making and prepare yourself for Amelia’s…um… unique way of opening the podcast.

Epsiode 189: You mean the World To Me
by Mc on May.15, 2017, under Podcasts
After an extended hiatus we’re back with a review of local Malaysian movie “You Mean the World to me“. Written and directed by  Saw Teong Hin, this semi-autobiographical film  is based on a stage play also by Saw Teong Hin and is set in Penang.
As with most local films, it might not stick around in cinemas long, so if you like the sound of what you hear you should probably check it out as son as you can.
Also on this week’s show we FINALLY announce the winners of our greenroom136.com Metromonger competition!
